Our field crew (see image below) captured three juvenile males and two adults (one pregnant female and one large male - both with #1 teeth) in 25 traps. All of the animals were new and each was given a beautiful colored tyvek necklace before being released.

We also observed several "puddles" by the side of the new road that contained thousands of tiny (several mm in length) black tadpoles that are probably Bufo marinus (Cane toad). The island has had more rain than normal in the past few months and is greener than I have ever seen it. Therefore, the tadpoles may actually have a fighting chance of completing metamorphosis.
