We spent a leisurely morning packing - all of the trapping stuff is stored at the Refuge - and left Cottages By The Sea at about 1:00 pm. I brought back some mongoose scat and a frozen mongoose, so of course we were pulled aside for further questioning. I expect that. But there were no problems and we sailed through all the inspections and ended up sitting in the airport lounge for about an hour before we left. I would rather sit there than somewhere else wondering if I might miss my flight. Although having to spend an extra day in Paradise would not kill me nor Jonathan!

Our flight from STX to Miami was uneventful, but our flight from Miami was delayed for more than an hour. When we finally crawled into a bed without sand for the first time in ten days it was nearly 2:00 AM Saturday morning. It is always good to get home, but sad to leave da islans mon!
