I woke up at 2:30 am and fell back to sleep until 3:00 am when my alarm rang. I woke Jonathan up at 3:30 and we left home at 3:42. We missed our flight last July, so we left extra early today so as to not repeat that fiasco. I have been looking forward to this trip for months. These expeditions with my ten-year old son help me to sort the wheat from the chaff. Jonathan, like all kids, has a remarkable power to focus on the present and ignore the past and future. When I am with him 24 hours each day on St. Croix that philosophy takes precedent.
